About Caframo Lab Solutions
In 1954, Hans Heidolph Sr. decided to expand outside of Germany, into North America and in 1955 the new Caframo business was opened, manufacturing and distributing laboratory stirrers in North America and Mexico.
The founders were Hans Heidolph Senior, his son Hans Heidolph Jr, and his son-in-law Doctor Rudolph Zinsser.
The company name Caframo is derived from “Canadian Fractional Motors”. All overhead stirrers are built with small motors less than a horsepower in strength.
In 1994, Tony Solecki joined the company as General Manager, and in 1996 purchased the company.
We pride ourselves as being an industry leader. Stirrers are made with brushless DC motors, metal housings and digital displays. The accessory stands, clamps and mixing impellers are electropolished stainless steel and all available from stock.

Our Technology
Caframo overhead stirrers and accessories are built in Canada to CSA/UL safety standards. We choose brushless DC (BLDC) motors for all of our products which provide more power at the chuck. Caframo boasts the highest torque laboratory overhead stirrers in the marketplace – the most power for their respective size.
We incorporate Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to test customer custom applications to ensure the correct motor power and impeller style are selected before investment. CFD simulations are also conducted during product develop phases to determine and confirm new product specifications. This testing helps to shorten the design and development process and optimizes designs at the early stages of development.
